First, more than anything you want to make sure your website is a continual priority. Don’t think that because your website has been constructed and published that your job is done. Third, maintain your links. By this it’s meant that you should make sure your links are correct – nothing is worse than a dead link. If you link out to other websites, you’ll want to take extra care in verifying the accuracy of these links, since wrong links can be misdirected to spamming, gambling, or even pornographic websites.
And finally, do your best to maintain a website that is up to date in not just content and links, but appearance. Trends are forever changing, but generally there is a gradual wave of change you can follow along with. Current trends are also common-sense ones: clean designs, easy-to-read fonts, colors that are complementing as well as highly-contrasting, etc.
